Testimonies from Inmates

IN OR OUT

by Gus Macropoulos

My name is Gus Macropoulos.  I spent the last six years of my life in jail and prison, but I was recently released.  At one point I was told I would NEVER get out of prison.  During that time I gave my life to God through His Son Jesus Christ.  When I did that I became part of a family of Christians who would not let me give up.

One very important part of this family was the prison ministry of LHF. The prayers of all of my Christian brothers and sisters is why God let me go free and able to walk into Living Hope Fellowship church seven years before my sentence was up.  Through prayer God opened the prison gates for me just as He did for Peter in Acts 12:1-19.  When I walked into LHF church and saw all the people face to face, I knew how Peter felt.

Now that I am out, I need your prayers more than ever.  My brothers that are still in prison also need your prayers and love.  Don’t ever stop what you are doing at LHF Prison Ministry!  God is listening to your prayers – I am proof of that!

I would like to thank you, not just for myself, but for all of the inmates that you have given love, hope, and fellowship to!  God will bless you for this!

Thank you.

Your Brother in Christ, Gus.

PRISON PRAISE

by Sharon Cromwell, Newsletter staff

Your prayers and support for LHF Prison Ministry are very much appreciated.  One inmate we helped has written to us since he was released.  David C. is 24.  He said it was very hard to get a job, but the Kansas City Star published an article about him and just how hard it is for a felon to find work.  We recently received a personal letter from David telling us that he just got a job and is training to be a warehouse manager.  He has spoken in a church and started a pen pal ministry between that church and a prison.  David wrote, “I also want to take this opportunity to thank you for your prayers during my incarceration.  It really meant a lot to me.  I hope you are doing well and in good spirits.  Tell the congregation that I said, ‘Hello and God Bless.’ . . . Thanks again to you and your congregation for all the prayers and support.”
