Living Hope Fellowship Church...Sermons From the Pastor

GET GOING
by Pastor Kevin Badgley

Today, I admonish you to get up and get going. God has given you a work to do. I'm talking to people who are really born again, saved, and living for God. I pray today that you are not satisfied with your walk, because if you are, then you are already cold. I believe that we should never be completely satisfied, except in the fact that heaven is our home, and Jesus is our Lord, and we want to do everything we can for Him. In our desire to do more for God, we should not be satisfied. We must go on to victory.

In Exodus we read about the commission that was given to Moses. Exodus 4:1-2 says, "And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not appeared unto thee. And the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod."

God showed Moses His power and glory in the burning bush. He gave Moses a commission to go preach the gospel to His people, and to deliver them out of the land of Egypt. God wanted Moses to know that He was real and that Pharaoh's magicians didn't have any power against the power of God.

Moses was scared of God, which was good, but he had man fear also. God admonished the prophets of old and us today not to fear the faces of men concerning the commission that He gives us. Regardless whether you are a child of God or a minister of the gospel that God is dealing with, fear God and not the devil.

We know according to God's Word that the rod that Moses carried was just a point of contact. By God's Spirit Moses used it and performed signs and wonders upon Egypt. God did many awesome things through Moses' ministry. Many times God allowed that rod to be stretched forth. The Red Sea parted, the river turned into blood, and many other things happened.

The rod is similar to the ministry, and the anointing of the calling that God has put in your hand and life. What are you doing with it? God is telling me to tell you to get up and get going. James 4:17 says, "Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin."

2 Corinthians 8:11-12 says, "Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have. For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not."

You need to know that you are responsible for what you have. If you are saved and living for God, I want to exhort and encourage you to go on with what you have! You may think that you don't have enough to do something for God. You have enough to do what God tells you to do, because He knows what you can and can't do. He's not going to lay more on you than you are able to bear in any situation. God is not unrighteous to forget the work and labor of love that you have shown toward Him and the saints. He is going to encourage you, and He will anoint you to do greater works if you will just get up and get going. Believe God and serve the Lord Jesus.

What do you have, and what are you doing with it? You may say, Well, if God will give me such and such, then I can do something for Him. Maybe God is trying to get you to let go and DO with what you do have. Jesus said in Luke 16:10, "He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much." Are you faithful in the little that you seem to think that you have? What are you doing as a man or woman of God? Are you putting your light under a bushel?

God is dealing with you to come on. God wants you to live for Him, believe Him, and call upon His name, and then you will see God move awesomely. I praise the Lord for that victory. I bless the name of Jesus, and I believe God for these things.

Jesus said in John 6:5-6, "When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat? And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do." God already knows what He's going to do with you if you will obey him, but he won't do anything until you get up and go by faith.

You've got to trust God today and get up and get going. If you say that you are not doing right, then get on your face and ask God to set you free. Ask him to forgive you, and then ask him to help you to be faithful in what you have. Many men and women who are supposed to be preaching the gospel have not done it, because they didn't use what God gave them. They didn't think that He gave them enough in days gone by, and they are backslid and going to hell.

Romans 11:29 says, "For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance." You can't get out of it; it is there for eternity. It doesn't change.

God is calling you today. What is in your hand, and what are you doing? You are accountable for what you have received of the Lord. You are responsible for the blessings and the anointing that He has given to you to do something for the kingdom of God.

Philip did not know how Jesus was going to feed the multitude. John 6:7-9 says, "Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little. One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith unto him, There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?"

Because they had enough faith to bring a little boy and his lunch to Him, Jesus took that lunch and fed the multitude. We know that he fed five thousand in one case and many thousands in another case. They were all filled, and they had some left over. There wasn't enough in that boy's lunch to feed thousands, but Jesus gave the increase.

God gives the increase, but you have to act by faith. People want to see the increase, and then they will go, but that is not faith. Some will say that they don't have the money to go, or the knowledge to talk, or the unction from God to do something. I believe that you should try the spirits (see John 4:1). I also believe that you should have something from God, but generally God will not give you a great mountain of wealth to go do a work.

God will give you enough of his blessing and power to get you saved and to get you started. Then by diligently seeking God, and calling upon His name, and acting in faith, you will receive more and more of God. 2 Peter 1:2 says, "Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,"

How can grace and peace be multiplied? It can be multiplied the same way that Jesus multiplied five loaves and two fishes. You have more potential than you realize. If you are not sure, then ask God about your life. However, if you know that you are serving the Lord the best you can, yet you are not satisfied, then step out in faith and believe God.

Jesus fed thousands, because somebody had something to give. Remember the servants with the talents in the 25th Chapter of Matthew. The Lord gave five talents to one. To another he gave two talents. To yet another he gave one talent. The one who just had one talent was so ashamed that he didn't have more from God, that he hid it in the earth. He hid it in an earthen vessel, and he wouldn't let it out. He wouldn't minister, or witness, or do anything, and God got angry with him and called him an unprofitable servant. He cast him into outer darkness where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth.

The unprofitable servant was bound hand and foot and cast out. Many people are bound hand and foot, and can't do anything. They can't feel the victory. Some aren't even living for God, because they have not used the talent, nor the blessing that God has given them.

Don't harden your heart, but repent of your wickedness. Ask God to set you free that you would not be unbelieving, but believing. Remember that God destroyed Pharaoh and his whole army with a rod. Samson killed a thousand with a jaw bone of an ass. Jesus fed five thousand with a very small lunch. God created the Universe with the Word.

What do you have in your hand? What can you do for God? What will you do? Ask God to help you step out in faith. God wants you to press on. If you will call upon the name of the Lord you shall be delivered if you mean it in your heart. Doubt not, and press in until you can feel God's power and anointing touch you. Ask God what you should do. You can say as Isaiah said in Isaiah 6:8, "Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me."

God told us that if we would be faithful in little, He would make us ruler over much. If we are faithful to do, and to give, and to commit unto Him the small things, He will make us rulers over much. God is looking for people to glorify His Son's name and to lift up the church to meet Jesus at His coming.

You will never be happy in life until you obey God and do what He has dealt with you to do. Seek Him, and find out what your calling is, and get going for God.
