Living Hope Fellowship Church....Sermons by the Pastor

HIGHER CALLING

by Pastor Kevin Badgley

In Matthew 13:44-46, we hear Jesus tell us the value of our living in the kingdom of heaven.  He said we are to pray that God’s kingdom come and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  God wills that we be without carefulness, sickness, troubled minds, or in distress, but He also wants us without the normal limitations of the common worldly man.

Most things men covet are to help them along in life in a fallen world’s existence.  Some things are expedient, some things are not.  What will a man give in exchange for his soul’s salvation and a deeper place in God?  With God, nothing is impossible – so if we get closer to God, less things are impossible to us!

With Christ, a small lunch feeds multitudes; with Christ, all sick and diseased are healed; with Christ, no devil can remain in a soul or a situation.  Jesus said that we would do what He did if we believe on Him, but there are many adversaries to that open door.  Some are of our own making, others are kept by ignorance.  All can be removed from our lives by the Holy Ghost of God.

It is all determined by the value we place on that position in Christ.  Is there anything we would not give?  Is there anything we would not forsake?  What an exchange for glory that we should be called the sons of God!  What joy to know all things are possible to us!  When shall we know?  When we have chosen the better part and will not let go till He blesses us!

How do we buy it?  Without money, without price, not with the things we now cherish that hinder our liberty.  We cannot serve God and mammon.  Mammon cannot produce miracles. If you have means, thank God for it.  If you have no means, God can now work a miracle.  Would you rather have a million count of your money, or the faith that provides without money?  Would you rather have food stored for many years, or be fed by God daily through the ravens?  Which testimony of God’s provision spoken to others will move them most?  God is not limited.  Let us not limit Him for ourselves.  Christ had not where to lay His head; but all power in heaven and earth was subject to Him.

We read in Philippians 3:13-14, “. . . forgetting those things which are behind . . . I press . . . for . . . the high calling of God. . . .”  This anointing of which we speak is certainly imparted as all other things of God, and as we live in it we may impart it to others also.  This is the power to grow into a glorious church without sport or wrinkle.  Let us believe God for His promises and don’t look back!  Amen!
