NO PLAN “B”

by Pastor Kevin Badgley

The whole Bible is plan A.  There is no plan B.  1 John 3:8 says, “. . . For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.”  Sin, sickness and disease, torment and bondage, are works of the devil!  When Jesus healed the blind man in Mark 8:22, He asked if he saw ought.  He said he saw men as trees, walking, so Jesus put his hands again on his eyes, and then he saw clearly!  Jesus didn’t accept partial healing for a victory.

I heard recently that someone I knew was “terminal”.  I was praying, and God told me that everybody is born terminal!  He said, “Just because a cancer gets in the way, and maybe picks up the pace a little bit, that is nothing.  I am the resurrection and the life.  If a man believeth in me, though he be dead yet shall he live!”  If someone is sick unto death, God can still destroy the work of the devil, and they shall live!  All men are condemned to hell, but Jesus will save whosoever will come unto Him.

Isaiah 65:24 says, “And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.”  When you pray in faith down here, Jesus is praying with an amen up there, and it can’t help but come to pass down here!

When God gets a hold of you, He sets you free and turns it around to where you won’t go to hell.  You will go to heaven.  I have heard people say that there is no way for them to be saved, healed, or delivered, but Jesus can come in and mess the devil up!  Jesus brings grace and truth, and it doesn’t matter what that person has done, it is forgiven.  He will cast the devil out, and suddenly they are a new creature!  They aren’t accountable for their past sins anymore (see Romans 3:25).

In John 11:25 Jesus said, “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:”  Lazarus had been dead four days.  He was rotting and stinking, but God raised him from the dead!  People say, Oh, miracles can’t happen in this area!  Folks, all things are possible to them that believe!  I believe that God is going to do the greatest miracles ever seen right here in this place!

In Jesus’ home town one time Jesus could do no mighty work except that He laid His hands on a few sick folks.  They didn’t bring but a few to Him!  They didn’t ask the Lord, because they didn’t believe.  They were hardened.

I have prayed, believing God for someone’s healing, and the devil has come over and told me that they can’t get healed.  Then he runs off a list of things that they have done wrong.  I used to back off, because they had done those things.  Roman 3:10 says, “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:”  There is always an accusation against someone who is sick or troubled.  There is always a reason why, BUT Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil!  If we will pray the prayer of faith, Jesus will destroy the works of the devil, set the person free, and erase all of those reasons!

I believe God is going to do something great here!  Do we deserve it?  No, but show me somebody that deserves salvation, or healing, or that deserves to have the devil cast out of them!  What happened to grace and compassion?

Jesus went to heal a girl who died while He was yet coming.  When He arrived, people laughed him to scorn, but He put out the unbelievers and raised her from the dead. In John 14:12 Jesus said, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”

Sometimes Christians get hardened to the victory that God has for us.  Think about the disciples that had two reports about Jesus.  One was from the women who saw the empty tomb and Jesus in the garden.  The second was from the two on the road to Emmaus that Jesus appeared to.  The other disciples did not believe either one of these reports.  They knew when they took Jesus down from the cross that He was lifeless and dead.  Yet, somebody said He was alive!

Faith pleases God.  As we go on in the Lord, we are joint heirs of Jesus Christ, yet we fail to believe God for great and wonderful things!  Jesus said in John 14:30, “. . . the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.”  As we press on in the Lord, the devil will have nothing in us.  God said that the gates of hell will not prevail against His church.  See Psalm 34:19.

In Acts, the whole church was down praying and asking God to set Peter free from jail and harm.  Suddenly they heard a knock at the door!  God answered their prayer!  Rhoda answered the door, and then shut it in Peter’s face!  She ran back and told everyone that Peter was at the door!  The miracle was right there looking at them!  The Bible says that the stocks fell off of him, and the gates opened by themselves.  The angel led him out.

You can have Scripture lined up and quote them right and left, but when are you going to believe God?  We are going to have revival!  There is no plan B.  Soon there won’t be any options.  What Jesus begins, He is well able to finish.  Get ready for revival.

There was a man with a withered hand in the church.  Jesus was grieved at the Pharisees who were watching to see if He would heal contrary to the way they thought He should!  People right now watching to see if God will do things their way!  Mark 3:5 says, “And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.”  Some were converted, but others counseled with the Herodians how they might destroy Jesus.  Some will try to stop us when God does it in our day!

Go with God’s plan A, and the Son of God will be manifest in your life, destroying the works of the devil today
