Living Hope Fellowship Church...Sermons From the Pastor

SUICIDE
by Pastor Kevin Badgley

Suicide is a controversial subject, even in the church world. Suicide is sin, and one that cannot be repented of. When you commit suicide, you kill yourself, and you will be dead. Therefore you cannot repent, and you will go to hell for it. Many people today believe that suicide is a viable option to troubles in this life. The secular world teaches that it is all right, and even many in the church world say that you can be forgiven of suicide.

If you attempt suicide, and you truly repent of your ways and get forgiveness, and are delivered by a deliverance ministry, God will save you and set you free. However, if you succeed in committing suicide, you cannot repent, and you will go to hell, because suicide is the murder of yourself. Matthew 19:18 says, ". . . Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder. . . ."

The Bible declares in 2 Thessalonians 2:11-12, "And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness." There is a strong delusion in the land in another form. That form is that it is all right to commit suicide; it will get you out of your troubles, and God will understand because you couldn't take it anymore. This is a lie from the pits of hell. You cannot commit suicide and go to heaven.

There is absolutely no Bible reference that says you can commit suicide and go to heaven. You can give your life over to God, and not live to yourself anymore. That is the spiritual way to make heaven, but the natural and Satanic counterfeit of it is suicide in the natural; to destroy yourself, and be damned for eternity. Obviously, this message will do no good to those who have already committed suicide, because they are dead. It is for the living who are thinking about suicide, and for those who are in great depression. For them, suicide is right around the corner.

A spirit of suicide from Satan always seems to have a "solution" for depression, melancholy, and overwhelming odds against your mind, body, and soul. His "solution" is to kill yourself and get out of it, but actually it's his final thrust to throw you into the pits of hell. You cannot escape it once you've obeyed the devil and committed suicide. The Bible declares in Romans 6:16, "Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?"

If you yield your members over to a suicide spirit, and you succeed in killing yourself, you are a servant of the devil. In I John 3:8 it says, "He that committeth sin is of the devil. . . ." If you commit sin you are obeying the devil, and if you obey the devil at your last breath, where is your victory?

There is absolutely no logic, much less Bible, to say that you would make heaven after killing yourself. I realize that this may upset the living who have had loved ones who have killed themselves. They would like to be comforted in the idea that maybe at the last few moments before they died they repented, and saed, No, I've changed my mind. I'm not saying that it is impossible, but it is far more likely that they would be still committed to going on and destroying themselves. We see someone attempt and fail. Generally, they do not repent; they try again and again until they do succeed. We've seen this with movie stars all the way down to the poor beggar in the gutter.

The suicide spirit is a grievous spirit; it is a devil. It will not let go until it succeeds. The only thing that can break the yoke of this thing is the blood of Jesus and the power of God. God wants you to know that suicide will send you straight to hell. If you are eager to go to hell, commit suicide, and you will be there very quickly. The Bible declares in Matthew, Chapter 4, that Satan, tempted Jesus for forty days and nights in the wilderness. After being baptized by John, Jesus was driven into the wilderness by the Spirit of the Lord to be tried and tempted of the Tempter, which is Satan. Satan tempted Jesus to kill himself. If Jesus wouldn't do it, who would get by with doing it? No one.

If you want to miss hell, you'd better put that knife down, put those pills down, and get rid of that devil that is hounding you to commit suicide. Get rid of the devil that is telling you that this is an "out." You say, There is no way out. Yes, there is. His name is Jesus. But I've heard this all before. You haven't heard the real one. There's a lot of Jesuses out there. You say, Well, how will I know the difference? Matthew 4:5 says, "Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple," In other words, Satan put Jesus right on the church house steeple. Verse 6 says, "And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone."

Satan quoted from Verse 12 of Psalm 91. In other words, he said that the angels will have charge over you; that God will never leave you; that God will not cast you into the pit; that He won't allow you to die, either physically or spiritually. These are some of the lies that the hypocritical, backslid preachers are telling people. They are saying that if they commit suicide, God will still understand. Of course, they council them not to commit suicide, and say, Oh, you've got a life to live. However, they still give them an assurance that if they can't stand it, they can still kill themselves and make heaven. They are liars, and you are going to be damned with the same lie that they gave you, if you believe them.

Satan tried to get Jesus to kill himself. Matthew 4:7 tells us how He answered. "Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God." In other words, He wouldn't do it. You cannot be saved if you kill yourself. Nor can any one else be saved, even your family members, who have killed themselves. People cannot be saved by casting themselves down, or destroying themselves. You can't tempt God with such a belief that he would save one who kills himself. You cannot make God say, Well, they were mine, so therefore, I'm going to hold on to them. I'll charge angels to hold them up lest they dash their foot. No! The devil tried it with Jesus, and he's trying it with others.

The devil has succeeded many times in getting people to commit suicide. It is one of the fastest growing methods of being destroyed and going to hell in the world today. The suicide rate, especially among young people, is extremely high. Suicide is not the answer. People are killing themselves because they do not have the power of God in their lives to satisfy their longing souls. Some hear the preacher preach, they give the money, they do all the works and go through all the rituals (depending on what "religion" or "denomination" they belong to), and yet they still are so dry and programed, and so organized that they don't feel the Spirit of the Lord. Do you know why? Because He's not there. The Lord is in the power and the moving of His Spirit. He's in the true worship and fellowship of saints who have prayed through, and have become real and holy before the Lord our God.

Jesus said in John 8:32, "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." This truth may hurt you or make you angry, but God wants you free. He wants you free so that you won't council a lie, nor believe a lie, because if you do either one, you will be damned. You cannot commit suicide and go to heaven. You can't even contemplate suicide, and have somebody else knock you in the head, and go to heaven.

"Mercy killing" is a big thing today. It's become a multi-million dollar thing. They are pushing for laws to make it an "option." There are doctors in the land who are specializing in "mercy killing." They are murdering these people, and these people, by letting them willfully kill them, are committing suicide by the hands of another. Listen to me! People say, Well, you don't know the agony that they are going through. They are going through great pain, and we are putting them out of their misery. Hell is far worse than the misery that they are in. The Bible declares that our breath is in the hands of God. Job 12:10 says, "In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind." If you take that away, then you have allowed the devil to destroy you, and you cannot go to heaven with a devil. It won't fall off of you as you go up in the Rapture. It doesn't work that way. God wants us free now so that we will be elligible for heaven, whether we die naturally or go in the rapture.

King Saul was the first king of Israel. He wasn't a nobody; he was somebody. He was the highest man of God's people in Israel. Yet, when he disobeyed God again, and again, God finally got fed up with him. Since he wanted to be in rebellion, God handed him over.

1 Samuel 16:14 says, "But the spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him." What happens when the Spirit of the Lord departs from somebody? Anytime the Spirit of the Lord departs from you, an evil spirit will come and take his place. The Bible declares that Saul could still prophesy when he got around God's people, or the anointing of the Lord. He could still carry on, but it was with "religion." It says in I Samuel 18:10, "And it came to pass on the morrow, that the evil spirit from God came upon Saul, and he prophesied in the midst of the house: and David played with his hand, as at other times: and there was a javelin in Saul's hand." The javelin was in Saul's hand, because he would not repent. David really got next to Saul, but Saul did not want to be free. He threw the javelin at David to destroy him.

You cannot stop God's word from going forth. Isaiah 55:11 says, "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."

The Bible declares in I Samuel 18:12, "And Saul was afraid of David, because the LORD was with him, and was departed from Saul." He was afraid of the Spirit of God in David. Many people today have a great fear, and are very troubled. Many are preeminently very melancholy and very depressed, and that's the opening door to suicide. It will come sooner or later. These people are very manipulative, and they play games with words. They are bound and need deliverance. These play with the suicide spirit, but the day may come that someone won't find them in time.

It is a dangerous game that you are playing; threatening or trying to commit suicide, while manipulating people around you, and shaking up your household, so they will chase after doctors to get you free, so that you can be satisfied. The day could come when they won't find you, and you will be in hell, because they didn't find you in time You died at your own hands.

What happened to Saul? The Bible declares that he told his armourbearer to thrust him through. I Samuel 31:4 says, "Then said Saul unto his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and thrust me through, and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. Therefore Saul took a sword, and fell upon it." This is what is happening in hospitals today. Many people are wanting their doctors to kill them. Yet, Saul's armourbearer was so afraid that he wouldn't do it. Saul fell on his own sword, and killed himself, and he's in hell. Why? It is because the Spirit of the Lord departed from him, and an evil spirit from the Lord troubled him. Then he took a suicide devil, killed himself, and he's in hell today.

Those of you who are wanting to die so bad to get out of a situation had better be very careful, because the next thing coming is the suicide spirit, and you will be tempted to obey it.

God, set every captive free today from melancholy and suicide, in the name of Jesus. Lord, let this word go out! Have mercy on every soul that has heard this message. Lord, there are no scriptures in your Bible that say that a Christian can commit suicide. Therefore, there is no Christian that should have melancholy and depression. God, in Jesus' name set every captive free, so that they cannot be lied to and destroyed by a spirit of the world that would destroy them and send them to the pit. Father, break the yoke of this lie that suicide is all right, that has been perpetrated throughout the church world. And God, set every captive free by the truth from your Word, in Jesus' name. Amen.
