____________________

(1) Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, (2) Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. Hebrews 6:1-2.

Before we can go on to perfection, we must know the principles of the doctrine of Christ. Eternal judgment is one of them. Whether you believe it or not, God is still God. Unbelief does not make God or his Word void (Isaiah 55:11). God is God and there is none other (Isaiah 44:8). We will be judged according to God's rules and according to our works. If we obey God, we will obtain eternal life. If we disobey God, we will obtain eternal damnation. There is no in between. Hell was prepared for the devil and his angels (Matthew 25:41), but hell enlarged herself to accommodate others (Isaiah 5:14).

It is time for thee, LORD, to work: for they have made void thy law. Psalm 119:126.

This scripture means that the people THOUGHT they made void the law of God and it was time the Lord proved to them that they had not. Some SEEM to "get by" with sin. They do NOT get by with it. God is merciful, not willing that any perish (2 Peter 3:9). If we turn from sin, God will forgive (Ezekiel 33). It is appointed unto men once to die and then the judgment (Hebrews 9:27).

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Proverbs 14:12.

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. Isaiah 55:11.

God's laws and commandments are holy, just, and good (Romans 7:12 & Revelation 15:3). He is supreme. His commandments are not grievous (1 John 5:2-3). He has set before us life and death, blessing and cursing. There is no alternative to choosing; you must choose. Choose carefully because when you die your final judgment is eternal. You will forever be where God puts you.

1. BLESSING OR CURSING, YOU CHOOSE

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: Deuteronomy 30:19. Read all of Deuteronomy 28 and Deuteronomy 30:15.

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. Joshua 24:15.

I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not. Isaiah 66:4.

(30) For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. (31) It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Hebrews 10:30-31.

2. JUDGED ACCORDING TO YOUR DEEDS

All souls will be judged according to the deeds done in this body and none are exempt. Read all of Romans Chapter 2.

(6) Who will render to every man according to his deeds: (7) To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: (8) But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, (9) Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; (10) But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: (11) For there is no respect of persons with God. Romans 2:6-11.

(12) For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; (13) (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. (14) For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: (15) Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;) (16) In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel. Romans 2:12-16.

Read 2 Peter 2:21-22 and Romans 8:13. There are many scriptures about backsliding.

Our lives are open for all to see. Some think their secret lives are hid but God sees all. Read Luke 8:17, Hebrews 4:12-13, Luke 9:47, 1 Timothy 5:24, Acts 8:22, and 1 John 1:7-9.

3. JUDGMENT IS SURE

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23.

Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever. Psalm 119:160.

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Hebrews 9:27.

But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things. Romans 2:2. Read Romans Chapters 1 & 2.

In earthly courts, the judge makes a decision whether the accused person goes free or has to be punished.

God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day. Psalm 7:11. Read Psalm 7:8-11.

(4) For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; (5) And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; (6) And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; (7) And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: (8) (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;) (9) The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished: 2 Peter 2:4-9.

But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. 2 Peter 3:7.

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. Mark 16:16.

That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2 Thessalonians 2:12. Read Mark 3:29.

The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God. Psalm 9:17.

(15) Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves: (18) And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it. Isaiah 28:15-18. Read Proverbs 15:11.

(26) For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; (27) And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. (28) Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, (29) And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. John 5:26-29.

4. ESCAPE GOING TO HELL—NO ESCAPE AFTER YOU GET THERE!

Repent of your sins and live for God. If you sin, repent and continue in Christ. Read 1 Corinthians 10:13. There will be no excuses for sin at the day of judgment. The Bible says that God's spirit will not always strive with man (Genesis 6:3). We cannot come to Jesus except the Father draws us (John 6:44). If we want to escape hell, we must repent and be saved. Read 2 Corinthians 6:1-2. Read Mark Chapter 9.

I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. Revelation 1:18.

Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? Romans 2:4.

The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath. Proverbs 15:24. Read Proverbs 23:14.

If so be they will hearken, and turn every man from his evil way, that I may repent me of the evil, which I purpose to do unto them because of the evil of their doings. Jeremiah 26:3.

Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it. Isaiah 5:14.

Read these scriptures and the ones surrounding them: Jeremiah 25:6, Zechariah 1:3, Isaiah 14:12-15, Matthew 23:33, and John 10:7-9.

Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: Matthew 25:41.

Because Jesus makes intercession for us as born again Christians, we can escape going to hell. If you die a sinner, not knowing Christ, or have known him and then denied him, you will go to hell and there is no escape from hell, once you get there!

5. WRATH OF GOD

But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; Romans 2:5.

Read Nehemiah 9:28-31, Jeremiah 17:23, Jeremiah 10:10, John 3:36, Habakkuk 3:2.

God is jealous, and the Lord revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies. Nahum 1:2.

For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: Colossians 3:6.

(23) Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you. (24) Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; (25) But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: (26) I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; (27) When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. (28) Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: (29) For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD: (30) They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof. (31) Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices. Proverbs 1:23-31.

He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy. Proverbs 29:1.

(11) But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear. (12) Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the LORD of hosts hath sent in his spirit by the former prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the LORD of hosts. (13) Therefore it is come to pass, that as he cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, saith the LORD of hosts: Zechariah 7:11-13.

For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king. 1 Samuel 15:23.

(7) For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. (8) But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (9) Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. Romans 5:7-9.

If we repent when we are warned and chastised by God, we can be saved (1 John 1:7-9). God chastises ALL who are his children (Hebrews 12:5-8).

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Romans 1:18.

6. IGNORANCE OR FORGETTING— NO EXCUSE

A. IGNORANCE

And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein. Isaiah 35:8.

Although there is a famine in the land of preachers preaching the truth, you still have the Word of God that contains the gospel of Jesus Christ. There are many Bibles now written off of the King James Version Bible. Some of them are actually PERVERSIONS of the Bible because they take out important facts upon which the gospel is founded. Revelation 22:18-20 gives strong warning against this!

(18) For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: (19) And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. (20) He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. Revelation 22:18-20.

Read Psalm 105:7 and Revelation 15:4.

(3) But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: (4) In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 2 Corinthians 4:3-4.

In the Old Testament they had to get forgiveness when they sinned through ignorance. Read these scriptures: Leviticus 4:13-14, Leviticus 5:15-18, Numbers 15:24-29.

(13) Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; (14) As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: 1 Peter 1:13-14.

(30) And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: (31) Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead. Acts 17:30-31.

Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: Ephesians 4:18.

(13) Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. (14) And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. 1 Timothy 1:13-14.

Paul received mercy because he repented when Jesus appeared to him. He repented of his ignorance in unbelief.

B. FORGETTING. There is a time to forget some things and a time to remember other things. Time to forget:

(13) Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before. (14) I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13-14.

Time to remember:

Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name. Malachi 3:16. Read Psalm 103:17-21.

DON'T FORGET GOD

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. Hosea 4:6.

Can a maid forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? yet my people have forgotten me days without number. Jeremiah 2:32.

Read Psalm 18:21-22, Psalm 105:5, Psalm 119:30, and Psalm 119:52.
