How
To Be Saved.
The Plan Of
Salvation
by Sharon Cromwell
The Bible says in Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned,
and come short of the glory of God;". That is why we
have to come to Jesus. There is no other way to get to
God. Acts 4:12, "Neither is there salvation in any other:
for there is none other name under heaven given among men,
whereby we must be saved."
Jesus said in John 6:44, "No man can come to me,
except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will
raise him up at the last day." God draws you to him to be
saved. If you yield to him, he will forgive you and make you a
new creature in Christ Jesus. Read 2 Corinthians 5:17. That is
how you can live for God after you come to the altar. Read
Romans 6:6. God truly has made a change in your heart. You
will receive strength by seeking God with much prayer and
reading the Word of God. He will lead you to seek Him for the
power of the Holy Ghost according to Acts chapters 1 and 2.
Colossians 1:23, "If ye continue in the faith grounded
and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the
gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every
creature..." We must continue in Jesus and be strong
against the devil. It is possible to backslide, but the BABY
Christian (newly saved) is allowed by God a space to grow in
grace.
If you are a sinner, when you die you go to hell. Romans
6:23, "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God
is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." The
provision has been made for us to escape going to hell. Romans
10:9-10 tells us what to do. "That if thou shalt confess
with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine
heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be
saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;
and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
Confess your sins to Jesus. Ask Him to forgive you and don't
give up until you feel a change. You may worry about
"living it:, but Jesus is able to help us overcome every
problem. 1 John 2:1, "My little children, these things
write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we
have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous."
Backsliders, here is a verse for you: Malachi 3:7,
"..Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the
Lord of hosts..".
"I'VE BEEN TOO BAD, GOD CAN'T FORGIVE ME!" Have
you ever heard or said this? Read Luke 7:41-43. In Luke 7:47
the same principle is brought out. "Wherefore I say unto
thee, Her sins, which are many are forgiven; for she loved
much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth
little."
What a loving God! Micah 7:19, "He will turn again, he
will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities;
and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the
sea."
We believe Jesus for salvation through forgiveness of sins
and for our healing. Jesus made atonement for us on the
Cross, paying for our salvation AND our healing. Psalms
103:2-3, "Bless the Lord, O my soul; and forget not all
his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth
all thy diseases;"
How do you keep from having to ask for forgiveness every
day? Keep from sinning every day. Isaiah 1:16,
"Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your
doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil".
Grow in grace. Remember you can go to Jesus, our advocate to
the Father, when you slip, but go to him immediately and
determine by God's help you won't slip again. James 4:7,
"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil,
and he will flee from you." Thank God for forgiveness and
serve him with joy. Your daily problems will not automatically
go away just because you got saved, but Jesus is there to help
you. If you are saved when you die, you will go to be with
Jesus.
Luke 9:23, "And he said to them all, If any man will
come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross
daily, and follow me." After you come to Jesus, you must
follow him. Sometimes this means persecution. Unsaved friends
and loved ones don't understand what has happened. Hold your
ground and ask God to help you to win them over to the joy
and peace you have found! Feel weak? 2 Corinthians 12:9,
"And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee:
for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly
therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the
power of Christ may rest upon me."
You may be new in Christ but you don't have to swallow
every thing you hear. God is able to keep you from being
deceived by lies and false doctrines, IF you will study God's
Word. Read the King James Version Bible. The devil never did
like you and he likes you much less now that you are a child
of God. Expect some battles, but know that what you get from
God is worth keeping and fighting for! Faith keeps you going.
"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word
of God." Romans 10:17. You need to go to a church that
will teach all the Bible in its truth. Why is this necessary?
Hebrews 10:25, "Not forsaking the assembling of
ourselves together, as the manner of some is: but exhorting
one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day
approaching."
1 Corinthians 10:13, "There hath no temptation
taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful,
who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able;
but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that
ye may be able to bear it." If you need help in
staying saved, pray and seek God, read God's Word, and you can
