IN HIS SPIRIT

Preface

(do exploits for God)

All things are possible to him that believeth!  The Bible says that greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world!  God cannot fail, and every man in God will not fail!

We are going to have revival, and Jesus is going to get the glory when His people become strong and do exploits!  By God’s Spirit the first church was raised up, and by God’s Spirit the last church will be raised up.  Blessed be the name of the Lord!

IN HIS SPIRIT

by Pastor Kevin Badgley

1 Corinthians 13:10 says, “But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.”

1 Corinthians 13:12 says, “For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.”

What the church does now is temporary.  God has ordained for the church to walk at a higher elevation. It is immutable, and it cannot fail.  It is indomitable.  It is a place the Bride will come to and will minister in for a season before her catching away.  We must strive for that mark, although the gate is narrow.

All things are possible to him that believeth, and it is only as difficult as you make it.  The Lord will overcome all of your obstacles, for greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.  God cannot fail, and every man in God will not fail.  It is a higher order than you are used to and what you have heard preached.  In that day you will be busy about the works of the Lord, and you will not be constantly taught or provoked of the things of God.  You will do exploits.  It is a higher plain.  Believe for it, and enter in!

John 3:27-34 says, “John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.  Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.  He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.  He must increase, but I must decrease.  He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.  And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.  He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.  For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.”

The church is designed to be a spiritual being, completely operated by the Spirit of God!  Children of God are not called to be reliant on the world; we must rely upon the Spirit of God.  There are many spirits in the world, but there is only ONE Spirit of God, and God’s design is to transform us and translate us from natural and carnal to spiritual.

The presence of the Lord was so great upon John that people were compelled to listen to him and people were provoked to come to God.  Even soldiers came to him and asked what they must do.  Because John pointed them the right way, the religious people of the day thought that he was the Christ.  John confessed that he wasn't the Christ, but that he was a witness of the Christ.

We read about the exploits of the old prophets, but Jesus said that John was greater.  John did no miracle, but he prepared the way for the Miracle Worker.  John said he would baptize them with water, but Jesus would baptize them with the Holy Ghost and fire.

Most children of God today who are filled with the Holy Ghost have not gone on to do the exploits God has designed for them to walk in.  The church is trying to fix things by natural ways and spread the Gospel by worldly means.  We have lost our dependency on God, so we resort to our own abilities, talents, and knowledge.            We go to God in prayer, but we don’t wait on Him.  Right before the children of Israel were delivered out of Egypt they endured a horrible time of tribulation, but as they followed Moses out, they became totally reliant on God.

However, when their heart turned back to Egypt, they made a golden calf out of the Egyptian spoils they had taken.  The American church today is increased with goods and filled with knowledge, but we need to be healing the sick, raising the dead, and casting out devils.

God did a new thing with Jesus.  He said that the power of God won’t just come upon you like it did the prophets of old. Now, the Holy Ghost can be in you all the time, and you have the ability to become like Jesus.

Before Jesus came, God sovereignly picked different ones to do His work.  Jesus said in Matthew 11:12, “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.”

Luke 16:16 says, “The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.”  Before John’s time they couldn’t press into the kingdom of God.  Only the ordained priest could walk into the presence of God at will, and then only on a scheduled time of God.

He changed that.  He made it where no matter your background, color, or gender, whosoever will, can stand in the presence of the Almighty at their will.  God doesn’t take us over, so that we immediately become like Jesus - He gives us power to become sons of God.  John 1:12 says, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:”

Paul said in 1 Corinthians 15:31, “. . . I die daily.”  Along with that he could have said that Christ got more powerful in him daily!

Jesus said in Matthew 6:33, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

God would have spared Sodom and Gomorrah for ten righteous people.  God sees the few righteous that are in the earth.  God will spare His people.  Many are martyred every day for the cause of Christ, but God hasn’t destroyed the world yet with His full wrath.  Occasionally He will tap a nation on the shoulder with an earthquake, a flood, or a storm and say, What about Jesus?

Jesus said in Matthew 11:11, “Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.”  Every person who receives Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord has the potential to do greater exploits than John the Baptist.  He ushered in Jesus, and Jesus then produced the miracles.  Jesus said that we produce the miracles through Him!  The people marveled that God had given such power unto men (see Matthew 9:8).

Jesus said in John 14:12, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”  These scriptures provoke me!  This thing drives me and keeps me on course!  It challenges me by telling me the potential that I have as a child of God!  God doesn’t need more Christians with status quo positions!  He wants them anointed so that all they have to do is walk in a room and let God work without saying a thing!

Paul said in 1 Corinthians 2:4-5, “And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:  That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.”

It doesn’t take much to fascinate us or to keep us entertained.  We are easily lulled away by man’s inventions and the devil’s devices.

The church should be a place where people come to be healed and a place where, if they really want God, they can get a hold of Him there.

1 John 2:20 says, “But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.”  Verse 27 says, “But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.”

As a Christian, the Spirit of the living God who created the heaven and the earth lives in you.  Yield your will to the Holy Ghost power.  You may have seen it abused, and you may have also seen the counterfeit, but God’s will and plan is that we walk in this earth as sons of God.  Regardless of your gender, you are still called sons of God.

That means you will walk just like Jesus, and anything that God wants done, you will do.  We should already know how the Lord works.  He works in the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

Jesus said in John 16:13, “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth. . . .”  He will lead you in the path of righteousness, and He will bring whatsoever Jesus and His Word says back to your remembrance for application in life.  God intends that every believer knows exactly what He wants every time He wants something done.  We are not to walk around wondering what is going on in heaven.

Jesus said in Luke 17:21, “. . . the kingdom of God is within you.”  We are more focused on our body functions than we are on the Spirit of God functioning in our soul!  If the Spirit of God moves us to do something, sometimes we quench it, and a lot of times we ignore it!  If we get a pain we will hear our body, but our spirit man is crying out, Obey God.  Seek His face.  Pray.  God has a plan in your life.  Listen to the Spirit of God.

What if there is no preacher to tell you what you need to do?  We should get into the place that we walk with God, and we don’t have to go around and say, Know ye the Lord.   Know ye the Lord.  I don’t speak to fingers on my hand and say, Ok, curl up and close, and make a fist.  It just follows through in my spirit and does it.  We should follow God at a higher level, but our focus is so easily diverted to ourselves that we can’t see God!

Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty!  I believe if the Spirit of God has His full way, when a Christian prays, the devil cannot work there!  We need to fast and pray and find out the WHY, and the WHY will fix the WHAT!

Paul came to the churches, and he never came without the anointing and signs following.  He didn’t pray for signs.  He sought the Lord, and the signs just came.  If you jump in the water, you are going to get wet.  If you rub up against somebody after you get out of the water, they are going to be wet.  It is the anointing that breaks the yoke, and it can only come by the baptism of the Holy Ghost.  The church is not going to do what Jesus did without the Holy Ghost; they cannot become greater than their master.

God has called us to a higher place, and there is an anointing in the Holy Ghost.  Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world!   If your life is not lining up with the Word, then something is wrong!  There is something in you that you aren’t letting go of.  I would rather find out now what is wrong, than to go on my way blindly and die in sin!

Some people seek the Lord, get relief, and then quit seeking Him.  They get where they think they can handle it, but the underlying problem is still there.  It just shifted gears!  I want to be free, free, free!  Whom the Son sets free is free indeed!

Many have been lulled to sleep.  What we are going to probably have to have is a good dose of tribulation.  When all our possible options and lifelines are cut off, the church will seek after God.  The first church did not rely on Caesar to operate them.  The first church did not rely upon natural means to function.

Jesus never said to go out into all the world and become like them!!!  He said to preach the Gospel and get them saved.

We are going to have revival, and Jesus is going to get the glory when His people become strong and do exploits!  By God’s Spirit the first church was raised up, and by God’s Spirit the last church will be raised up.  Blessed be the name of the Lord!
