MOST HOLY FAITH

Preface

 (praying in the Holy Ghost)

Jude 1:20 says, “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,”

The Lord has called us to pray in the Holy Ghost.  Some people say that excludes them, because they don’t have the Holy Ghost, but Ephesians 5:18 says, “. . . be filled with the Spirit;”

The reason Christians don’t have victory over the world is because they’ve not been praying enough in the Holy Ghost.  You need to build up your most holy faith, and you will find that the victory in the Holy Ghost will wrap all around you, and you will be different.

As we pray in the Holy Ghost we are sanctified and made meet for the master’s use.  The Holy Ghost is necessary, and praying in the Holy Ghost is necessary.  The time you spend is well worth it.

MOST HOLY FAITH

 by Pastor Kevin Badgley

GET READY!  I heard that straight from heaven, and it just about knocked me down.  I’m talking to all Christians, and especially anybody working in the ministry in any form.  If you aren’t ready, you’d better be getting ready!

I want to provoke you to hunger and thirst after righteousness, so you will be filled with the Holy Ghost.  The only way you are going to really get full of the righteousness of God, and see God move in your life, is to be filled with the Holy Ghost and then go on unto perfection.

Jude 1:20 says, “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,” Jesus was talking to His people.  The Lord has called us to pray in the Holy Ghost.  Some people say that excludes them, because they don’t have the Holy Ghost.  No it does not.  It says to be filled with the Spirit!  Ephesians 5:18 says, “. . . be filled with the Spirit;”

1John 5:4 says, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”  There is a victory inside you, and it is in your faith.  It is not the regular kind where you believe with you own way of thinking.  It is in a supernatural faith that God gives.  He gave it by the baptism of the Holy Ghost.  He told us we can pray and build up ourselves on our most holy faith, if we pray in the Holy Ghost.   That is the victory that overcomes the world!

The reason Christians don’t have victory over the world is because they’ve not been praying enough in the Holy Ghost.  If you haven’t got Him, you need to get Him now, so you can pray at will in the Holy Ghost, building up your most holy faith, and you will find victory in that faith.  This is the victory that overcomes the world.  That way no man can boast about it.  It has been planted in you by the Holy Ghost.

The power and anointing of God knocked Paul down on the road to Damascus.  Jesus gave him commission to be a minister and gave him a commandment.  God does not give commandments that people cannot fulfill if they will line up with His Word.  The promises of God are yea and amen to all who will believe in Christ Jesus.  If you are in Christ, everything that God commands you is possible.  You have to be born again and filled with the Spirit of God.  Then you will be able to do whatsoever God tells you to do.  Reject the lie that says it can’t be done.

Luke 10:19 says, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”  God has promised great things to the overcomer.  Revelation 21:7 says, “He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.”  We inherit things from God, and we can overcome by the power of God.

Acts 26:18 says, “. . . that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.”  Some people look at another minister or the apostles of faith in days gone by, and say they wish they had a ministry like one of them.  However, I want a ministry like Jesus Christ.  He has a faith, a mantle, and an anointing that cannot fail.  If you are filled with the Holy Ghost, you have the same Spirit in you that He had.  You can pray your way completely out of sickness.  You are sanctified by faith, the most holy faith that you pray in.  God has put the kingdom of God within you, and you have got to pray.  If you were praying ENOUGH, you would be walking on water, casting out devils, healing the sick, and raising the dead.

The faith Jesus has is a most holy faith.  God in His wonderful grace and mercy gave us the same Spirit that Jesus had, and therefore the same faith that He had.  You have to wake the thing up, and pray, and build yourselves up on your most holy faith, where you aren’t standing on your own faith or understanding any more.  Pretty soon you will be overtaken by the faith that is in Christ Jesus, and you will be thinking like Him.

God didn’t give you the Holy Ghost to walk around with your lip dragging the ground, or to let the devil sit on your shoulder and afflict you physically.  God filled you with the Holy Ghost so you will cast the devil out, first out of your life, and then out of others.  You are supposed to be built up in this thing.  Some people get mad when God tells them to pray, and fast, and believe Him for all things.  If you pray, you will start believing these things God has spoken.  How is He going to do it?  Just shut up your own thinking and worrying, and pray.  Quit asking dumb questions.  Your carnal mind is enmity with God.  You will never figure Him out.  Pray, and get built up, and then you will know that God did it.  One day soon you will see the faces of men and women who have paid the price, prayed into the thing, and when they speak, it is not them speaking anymore, but God is talking through them.

Romans 8:10 says, “And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.”  This body is always dragging us around, this body of death that Paul talked about.  The Spirit is the Holy Ghost baptism, and it is life because of Christ’s righteousness, not ours.

Romans 8:11 says, “But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”  If you are praying in the Holy Ghost, you are being quickened, and He will bring things back to you, like all the vows you’ve made and what He says about holiness.  You can better remember Scriptures.  You can get to where you aren’t fit for anything down here except signs following as in Mark, Chapter 16.  That is where we need to be.

We are talking about praying in the Holy Ghost.  Luke 9:29 talks about Jesus, and it says, “And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.”  His countenance, His appearance was altered, changed from natural to supernatural right in front of their eyes.  How did this happen?  He PRAYED.  The same Spirit He was praying in at that moment is the same Spirit that is in you and me when we are filled with the baptism of the Holy Ghost!  As we pray, building up ourselves in our most holy faith, the fashion of our countenances can be altered.  Are we afflicted, bound, fettered, afraid, doubtful or unbelieving?  That is going to be altered by God.

1 Corinthians 15:50 says, “Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.”  Our old nature cannot inherit the kingdom of God.  Corruption is in our old nature and attitudes, and it cannot inherit the Holy Spirit of God.

1 Corinthians 15:53 says, “For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.”  It has got to be done.  That is the only way you can get to the kingdom of God.  Verse 54 says, “So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.”

It means the same death Romans 7:24 speaks about – “O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?”  He says death is swallowed up in victory!  What is the victory?  Look at 1 John 5:4 again, “. . . this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”  The victory is in our faith in Christ, and that is in the Holy Ghost.  You pray so long and then you will be different.  The victory in the Holy Ghost will wrap all around you, and death will be swallowed up!

I’m talking about being sanctified by the faith that is in Jesus, not about becoming little gods.  The church must have it to meet Him at His coming.  There is no way around it.  We have to be without spot or wrinkle.  The only way is to be wrapped up in Jesus, so that when God looks, all He sees is Jesus.  The only way we can get there is to pray in the Holy Ghost, building up our most holy faith.

People don’t think they can pray that much.  If we are saved and filled with the Holy Ghost, then we should walk in the spirit.  Galatians 5:16 says, “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.”  Verse 25 says, “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.”

1 Thessalonians 5:17 says, “Pray without ceasing.”  It is a direct line to God that will suddenly transform you from corruption to incorruption.  He said we must put onincorruption and immortality.  You cannot inherit the kingdom of God until you do.  Some people think it is something a long ways off, but it is not.

It happens from the inside out!  The church has it all messed up, trying to do it from the outside in, and say, Look how holy I am.  God wants us to PUT ON HIM, His faith, His anointing.

Luke 3:21 says that as Jesus was praying, the heaven was opened.  I am tired of heaven being as brass over my head when I pray.  Something is wrong.  This praying in the Holy Ghost is like Jacob’s ladder, straight to heaven.  God put it in you, but the devil has lied and said that there was nothing to it.  The devil is a liar; don’t believe him.

David said he gave himself unto prayer.  The first apostles didn’t want to lose what they had, so when things started getting all administrative, they decided to choose out men full of the Holy Ghost and of good report to do those jobs.  Acts 4:6 says, “But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.”  We’ve got to PRAY.

Peter’s shadow healed the sick, and Paul’s aprons cast out devils.  Luke 9:2 says, “And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.”   Matthew 9:8 says, “But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.”  That is walking in victory and in the Holy Ghost.

I want you to look at something in the Old Testament.  Samuel was an awesome prophet of God, and one of the last godly judges of Israel.  He anointed Saul to be the first king of Israel and told him what would happen when the Spirit of the Lord descended on him.  1 Samuel 10:6 says, “And the Spirit of the LORD will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man.”

You are going to be turned into another man!  You may think you are just fine like you are, but maybe you need to pray through.  God has been looking at your fruit, and He wants the kind of fruit that remains.  A corrupt tree cannot bring forth good fruit.  By the fruit you will know them.

There is a change in your life when the Holy Ghost comes in.  You don’t act like you use to.  When you get saved, you get joy, but when you get the Holy Ghost something different happens to you.  There is a fire shut up in your bones, and there is something going on in your belly that goes round and round like a dove trying to break free, but at the same time it will enlarge the house.  That Spirit tells you to pray, pray, pray unto God.  The Holy Ghost can talk faster than we can.

Samuel also told Saul that after he was turned into another man in 1 Samuel 10:7 - “And let it be, when these signs are come unto thee, that thou do as occasion serve thee; for God is with thee.”  What a liberty!  Before this anointing came on him, he could not do what he wanted to do.  However, when he became another man, he was changed.  Samuel told him to do as occasion served him BECAUSE God was with him.

If you get down and pray in the Holy Ghost and stay there for days, the Spirit of the Lord will be on you so heavy, you will be changed even MORE.  2 Corinthians 3:18 says, “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

We are being sanctified by that most holy faith, out of this world and into the supernatural, and made right and meet for the master’s use.  Our faith is being built up, and we get to the place where God can use us.  We can do as Samuel said to Saul, “. . . do as occasion serve thee, for God is with thee.”  We receive power to work, not in sin, but according to God’s Word.  If you are in that place you want to go on in God.  He said in Jeremiah 31:33, “. . . I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.”  2 Corinthians 6:16 says, “. . . I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.”

Jesus told one man that according to his faith it would be unto him.  Some people don’t have much faith, because they haven’t been praying!  We have the potential to have the same faith that Jesus had, if we will pray and build it up.  As we pray, our countenance IS altered and changed into the image of Christ by the Spirit of the Lord.  Then according to your prayer time, He will answer you.

It is vitally important that you spend time in prayer to God.  You will want to go to pray for someone, or to witness about Christ, or to deal with someone about the things of God. You don’t have to tell anybody if you’ve been praying night and day.  They will know if you have or not, because the Bible mentions some signs that follow them that believe.

The Holy Ghost is necessary.  Praying in the Holy Ghost is necessary.  The time you spend is well worth it.  James 2: 17 says, “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.”  You may say you have great faith, and you know all about the Bible, you have understanding, and you can quote Scriptures.  You may even do some fasting, but if you have no works, it is dead.  What are those works of the most holy faith that is in the Holy Ghost?  It is the working of the Spirit and prayer time.  That faith is dead if you don’t pray.  You can be saved and filled with the Holy Ghost, yet your faith can be dead, because it is ALONE.  It is not kindled by the fire of Holy Ghost prayer.

Without charity, you might do some great things, but you are like sounding brass and tinkling cymbals (see 1 Corinthians, Chapter 13).  Some people pray only when they are out where somebody can see them.  You should pray for hours and hours before you ever pray in public.  Then the faith within you will be stirred up, and according to your faith it shall be done.  Jesus said in 1 John 2:27, “But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you. . .”  If you keep that stirred up, you will abide in the Lord.

Then John 15:7 will work for you.  “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.”  It is because you’ve been praying.  The Holy Ghost is given to you to profit withal, and so that you will be brought into perfection in the Lord.

James 2:26 says, “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”  You have a body, and you walk around with the Holy Ghost in there, but if you don’t use it, you are as dead as somebody who doesn’t have the Holy Ghost, as far as works are concerned.  You ought to be ashamed if you have been saved and filled with the Holy Ghost for years, and yet you are no further along.  You haven’t been praying like you ought to.

Philippians 2:13 says, “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”  Faith without works is dead.  When you pray, something is going on in you.  God is working in you to will - to make sure it comes to pass according to God’s will, and He will do it with signs following.  It is God’s good pleasure to do these things.

If we will pray in the Holy Ghost, we shall be built up in Jesus.  He will give us the victory in our souls.  He will make us able to fulfill every command God has given us including the great commission.  Mark 16:15-18 says, “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.  He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

As we are obedient to the call to go, it will happen to us as it did in Mark 16:20 which says, “And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
