THE SPECIALIST
Preface
(fear not, overcome
impossibility)
Luke 1:37 says, “For with God nothing shall be
impossible.”
The specialist has to deal in something special, and I
have some specific things in my life that are impossible, that
I feel the weight of every day.
I need someone that specializes in things called
impossible, and that is God!
We are children of the Highest, who is the King and
specialist over impossible things, so if we are with
God, our impossibilities are gone.
Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty!
It is not the job of the church to just cope with life.
God has called us to be representatives of the
Specialist in overcoming impossibilities.
We are going to deal with impossibilities every day of
our lives, but we serve the one who specializes in them!
THE SPECIALIST
by Pastor Kevin Badgley
Luke 1:37 says, “For with God nothing shall be
impossible.”
Hallelujah! You
are up against IT, and IT is impossible!
You can’t fix it.
You can’t get through.
You can’t make amends.
You can’t correct it.
You can’t figure it out.
You can’t get it to do what you want it to do.
You can’t get them to do what you want them to
do. You can’t get
them to hear. It
seems that they are blind, and deaf, and dumb.
It is impossible.
We need a specialist!
We need a specialist. I don’t think that a GP
(General Practitioner) will work.
We don’t need some general, all purpose, hand me down,
second hand, one size fits all thing.
I need a specialist to get inside my soul, and the only
one that can bring something special is a specialist!
The specialist has to deal in something special, and I
know I have some specific special things that are impossible.
I feel the weight of them every day.
I need someone that specializes in things called
impossible, and that is God!
What I have had in the past isn’t enough now, because
my demands today are greater than yesterday’s.
When you are being crushed, and pressed, and hammered,
and it looks like life isn’t worth living you may ask,
Where can I go?
Folks, you can’t go anywhere but UP if you hold on
to God, because hell has been shut off from you.
In the days of
Mary and Joseph things were impossible.
Gabriel, an angel that stands in the presence of God,
was sent to Mary.
We aren’t talking about some peon here.
He came straight from heaven.
You can read about it in the first chapter of Luke.
Mary was a young virgin engaged to a man by the name of
Joseph.
God sent the angel, Gabriel, to talk to Mary.
The Bible says that she found favor with God.
She was living righteously before God.
Have you found favor with God?
When God starts drawing you, dealing, and calling you,
you become miserable, even if you are already a child of God!
God wants us to go further than we are!
What I had when I got started isn’t good enough now.
I had zeal and that first love, and thank God, I have
done some wising up!
I have been drug through the mud a little bit!
The devil and I have had a few tussles, and I found out
that this isn’t a cruise!
Jonah thought he was going to take a cruise.
He didn’t want to take the hard route, but God directed
his cruise right into the belly of hell!
This is what the Bible calls it.
His cruise went right down into the stomach of that
whale!
Thank God he could get back!
Be thankful when you find out you can get back, because
God is dealing with you!
When you come to yourself, even waking up in the pig
pen, thank God for mercy.
After surveying your surroundings, don’t say, Oh,
how far I have gone!
God will never have me!
It is your wake up call!
Come on back!
You wouldn’t even have known that you were in a pig pen
unless God had brought you to yourself!
Come on home!
Luke 1:30 says, “And the angel said unto her, Fear not,
Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.”
If you are saved, you have found favor with God.
We have found favor with God by the blood of His Son
Jesus that covers and cleanses us, by the stripes He took, His
work, and by the drawing of His Spirit.
Fear not! You have favor with God!
Now you are in a position to have something great from
God! Fear not.
The things that you are going through - fear not, for
you have found favor with God.
Though the enemy comes against you like a flood, the
Bible says that the Spirit of the Lord will raise up a
standard against him!
Fear has doubt.
Fear has loss and unbelief.
Fear is faith in the world and our own personal
ability, but faith in God - brings forth miracles.
A miracle is an impossibility taking place . . .
anyhow! God
specializes in impossibilities!
God can create impossible things.
God will even let an impossibility come your way!
It doesn’t take a whole lot, because we are so limited.
Jesus was asleep on the boat as He and the disciples
were crossing over to the other side of the sea.
They weren’t doing anything wrong.
They were just headed to the other side, and they were
going to believe God for miracles over there!
A great wind arose!
I believe God allowed that wind, because they needed to
see Jesus’ power in rebuking the winds and the waves.
In Matthew 8:27 they said, “. . . What manner of man is
this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!”
Jesus was a man filled with God, a man whose
impossibility had fallen away.
Folks, I want you to consider something.
Mary was receiving instructions from God.
She was about to walk into that which was totally
impossible and live it on a daily basis!
The Bible says that the just shall live by faith!
I have been faced with some impossible things in my
life, and there is a war that goes on.
You are living in impossibility.
Discouragement and despair wants to come in, and you
have a feeling of worthlessness.
Feeling the lack of accomplishment is a mild way of
putting it. It is
frustrating, but I remember that the Lord specializes in every
category!
Luke 1:31 says, “And, behold, thou shalt conceive in
thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name
JESUS.”
If you find favor with God, and you don’t fear, you are
going to conceive.
I mean, what you believe for is going to take place!
Verse 32-33 says, “He shall be great, and shall be
called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give
unto him the throne of his father David:
And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever;
and of his kingdom there shall be no end.”
What a prophecy over a child to come!
He told her God Almighty’s Son was going to be born to
her! Do you know
that every believer is in that position?
The new man, the quickening spirit, the last Adam are
all in the believer by the blood of Jesus and by His Spirit.
Every one of us, if we have found favor with God, and
have received Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, have a
conception, a glory.
It is Christ in us, the hope of glory!
It is the Spirit of God’s dear Son in the believer
crying to God, Abba Father.
I’m in a more impossible straight right now than I have
ever been in my life.
Part of me hates every second of it, but there is a
part of me that knows there is somebody in me that is greater.
I believe God has placed me in a hard place on purpose.
He knows that I can’t do a thing about it, and I can’t
go any farther.
The very next breath I take is going to have to be Jesus
taking it, because I’m done; I can’t take any more!
When you start living after that, if you take another
step, it is not you taking it.
The next step is not you taking it, because you quit,
and it has to be God beginning to take over.
It is at your death (to self).
The resurrection doesn’t occur until after you are
dead. When you
are dead to self, you are alive more than you have ever been
in your life! As
far as understanding the process, I don’t.
I know theologically and intellectually by the Bible,
but now I’m knowing it by experiencing it!
There is a holy thing conceived in you, and it wants
out, but it won’t be through the process of an unholy thing,
which is us. We
are filthy and defiled.
We are vile, and worldly, and lustful; this is normal.
We war in getting our way, so it’s impossible.
This whole thing is impossible!
It can’t be done, but Jesus said in Luke 22:42,
“. . . not my will, but thine, be done.”
Job 13:15 says, “Though he slay me, yet will I trust in
him. . . .” How
can I trust in Him if I’m slain? But I must!
It must be so that we can be saved to the uttermost!
Mary’s mind was reeling.
He said all of these glorious things!
God spoke through the angel all the great glory that
God was going to do because she said yes to the Lord!
Why would God pick her out?
Why would God pick you out and call you?
Do you know how blessed it is for God to deal with you,
even if He makes you miserable?
He will convict you, and you’ll say, Man, something
is drawing me up there, but I don’t want to go!
I know it must be God, but why is He picking on me?
This is your opportunity!
God has to draw you.
God is calling you, so go!
Luke 1:34 says, “Then said Mary unto the angel, How
shall this be, seeing I know not a man?”
In other words, this was impossible!
That was the only way she knew how to have babies, but
God didn’t need a man this time.
God was the Father and He found a woman who was yielded
enough to believe Him!
Verse 35 says, “And the angel answered and said unto
her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the
Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing
which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.”
Acts 1:8 says, “But ye shall receive power, after that
the Holy Ghost is come upon you. . . .”
You and I have a little bit of power.
There is power with men, power in the world, power of
Satan and his devils, but there is a greater power which is
the highest power - God.
We need to be plugged into Him!
God wants to plug us in and deals with us, Will you
have it? Right
now? Will
you?
Zechariah 4:6 says, “. . . Not by might, nor by power,
but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.”
All you have to do is say yes.
It is very precious for God to hover over you.
He is drawing people to be saved and sanctified!
He is calling people to intercession!
He is picking out people to do that which cannot be
done!
Luke 1:36 says, “And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she
hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the
sixth month with her, who was called barren.”
She isn’t barren now!
That is what is wrong with the church, it’s not
pregnant. They
have a husband, but they aren’t pregnant.
How do you get new births?
How do you get revival?
How do you get new people coming in?
How do you get children to be born through the
marriage? How do
you get new life?
How do you extend the family?
How do we spread revival except that there be a
marriage? The
only way that you are going to have it is by communion with
the husband.
Verse 37 says, “For with God nothing shall be
impossible.” I am
sick of impossibilities and limitations!
I have a zeal!
I have a fire!
I have something in me that won’t let go of me!
With God nothing shall be impossible.
If we have limitations, some part about us is not with
God. We are
children of the Highest, who is the King and specialist over
impossible things, so if we are with God, our impossibilities
are gone. Where
the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty!
There is something in the church that is not with God!
There is something in my life and in your life that is
not with God.
Something is not sold out, because we still suffer
impossibilities, and that is not the calling of the church.
It is not the job of the church to just cope with life.
God has called us to be representatives of the
SPECIALIST in overcoming impossibilities.
We are going to deal with impossibilities every day of
our lives, but it also says that we are going to overcome them
by and by.
Hallelujah.
There is a difference between Mary and Zacharias,
John’s daddy. He
argued with the angel one time too many, and the angel struck
him dumb. Why?
So he couldn’t inflict doubt anymore, and keep his wife
from conceiving.
That little girl over there in
Nazareth
said a profound thing to the angel right before he left.
Luke 1:38 says, “And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of
the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel
departed from her.”
I want it to be done unto me according to His Word!
Jesus is the Word, so let it be done unto me according
to Jesus. I want
to be like Jesus!
Jesus said in John 16:33, “. . . be of good cheer; I have
overcome the world.”
Look to the Specialist and become an overcomer!
