TRAVAIL THE VICTORY
Preface
(pray for revival)
We have
conceived the seed of faith in Christ, and that holy thing
which is in us begins to grow as we yield to God and pray.
It is a
supernatural conception from heaven by God’s Holy Ghost that
has overshadowed us. That holy thing conceived in us must
be brought forth – revival that manifests the Lord
Jesus Christ.
We are in
travail that we might bring forth revival. The Bible says
when Zion travailed, she brought forth children. If the
Bride of Christ doesn’t give up, she will bring forth
children, and the glory of God, and revival.
However, you
won’t have revival unless you fast, and pray, and believe
God for it. Pray for one another that God will give each of
us the faith to go onward and believe Him for the rest of
His move in us.
TRAVAIL THE VICTORY
by Pastor Kevin Badgley
When a child is coming, you
have to get the nursery ready for that which is to come.
John 16:21
says, “A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow,
because her hour is come: but as soon as she is
delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the
anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.”
Jesus said
that when a woman is in travail, she has sorrow. In the
Bride of Christ, the church, God’s people, the seed of the
Word of God has been planted by faith. As we yield our
lives over to God - body, mind, heart, soul, and spirit, we
are growing something within us as individuals and as a
church body. However, before there can be a birth, there
must be great travail.
If someone
assists a baby chicken in cracking out of its shell when it
is being born, the chick is weak, and in most cases does not
live. It was not given the opportunity to be birthed in the
fashion God ordained.
According to
God’s Word, it is the same way for the Church, the Bride of
Christ. She must travail before she can bring forth
children. God has ordained for His Bride to bring forth the
remnant that will go up when the trumpet sounds and the
rapture takes place.
We have
conceived the seed of faith in Christ, and that holy thing
which has come upon us and in us begins to grow as we yield
to God and we pray, building up ourselves in our most holy
faith. We begin to “show” the things God has promised to
them that love Him. The further along we get, the more
uncomfortable and lousy we feel in the natural, because
something is not normal. It is a supernatural conception
from heaven by God’s Holy Ghost that has overshadowed us.
That holy thing conceived in us must be brought forth –
revival that is in the manifestation of Jesus Christ the
Lord. It must come forth in the church as a whole, but it
must come forth in the individual first.
In John 14:23
Jesus said, “. . . If a man love me, he will keep my words:
and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and
make our abode with him.” We believe this by faith in the
beginning, and it was accounted to us for righteousness. It
begins a work in us as Christians. As we go on, the power
of God shows in us. There are signs that we are “pregnant”.
We have gone
through great wrestling likened to travail. God wants
Christ to be raised up in us and manifest in His people. It
will come forth first as the anointing. Then it will begin
to move forth as revival, and then to the manifest sons of
God! Whosoever will may come.
We are
building a church, a “nursery”, something God has commanded
us to build as an act of faith. As we obey God in anything,
He will cause the growth of Christ to accelerate in us.
Many times it is not evident at first, but soon it will
“show”. Then the world begins to get upset!
You get into
sorrow, because you say, I’ve gone to the trouble of
birthing this thing, and they do not care! You go into
travail and the whole gamut of emotions. This is when men
can understand a little bit of what a woman goes through as
she goes through all the spectrum of trouble and travail in
her mind and her body as she is about to give birth.
I believe the
birth of the manifestation of the power of God we have
sought and believed God for is about to bring forth. I
believe the door is open, and God is ready to do something
with His people. They are travailing, and people are
mocking and rejecting them. They say, Why are you
starting something in the middle of winter, and in the
middle of the night?
God has given
us a command, and we are listening to Him. He says we must
travail until we bring forth! Birth is not painless. God
told Eve in Genesis 3:16, “. . . I will greatly multiply thy
sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth
children. . . .”
If you get
full of God, you can birth an unlimited number of people to
Christ. They will see the manifest Son of God, and they
will believe on Him. They will conceive the seed of faith
and go on to a greater move of God still yet. That is
revival, as children are birthed into the Kingdom of God.
I have been
told that it is the greatest act of agony in a human being
when a woman goes through the final moment, that last big
push in birth. You want the child to be fine, and you want
to get the thing over with. You are in the midst of being
delivered. You are wrestling it for all you are worth. You
may be about to pass out, or maybe you are coming and
going. You may feel like you are being stretched and pulled
in every direction. Suddenly there is a powerful rush, and
the birth comes forth, and the baby starts hollering. Some
fathers have been privileged to be at their children’s
birth.
God wants to
do something. If a woman remembered the sorrow and anguish
from the first child, she would want no more. Medical
science says women are at the closest point of death when
birth is about to come forth. The blood pressure is high,
the heart rate is pounding, the sweat is pouring, and the
blood is running. However, a new life is coming forth.
There is a near death before that life comes. That is what
a woman goes through.
That is what
the church is going through! We are in a birthing time,
travailing right now for the greatest move of the Lord Jesus
Christ the world has ever known. When the things that God
has promised to us that love Him come, we won’t remember the
travail! We will be concentrating on getting on with the
revival! Signs, wonders, and miracles will follow them that
believe! Mark 16:15-18 says, “And he said unto
them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to
every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be
saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these
signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they
cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They
shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing,
it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick,
and they shall recover.”
Jesus is
growing in you, and you are about to travail with the
manifest presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. When He comes
forth and stands in all His glory, He will draw all men unto
Him!
The closest
point of death for one who is giving birth is right when the
child is coming forth. Some people feel like the bottom
would look good if they could ever reach up high enough to
touch it. The devil even starts to make sense to them. The
mind is in great warfare. The body feels oppression from
the things the devil has sent against them.
We are in
travail, and we have a choice to come on or to abort! Some
have aborted in the very last hour, but some have aborted
early. Some never allow the conception to take place. Some
want to be delivered from the travail. They do not want to
give birth. You can encourage Christians, telling them
about the joy waiting on them, but they say they can’t stand
it, and they abort.
One great
device of hell is that many have conceived wrong seed and
are about to give birth to that which the antichrist has
planted in them!
Christ wants
warriors who will fight the battle against the thief who has
provoked the earth since Cain. We are travailing and we are
going to bring forth. There will be days you will bleed,
days you will be confused, and days of wrestling, but there
will also be days of relief, blessing, and joy. Always
remember what the Word of God says. Believe it and follow
it and that Word will become more manifest in you. Your
sorrow shall be turned into joy!
When you are
going through trouble to bring this forth, know that the joy
that waits thereafter is far greater, far more glorious, and
more powerful. It is anointed of God, and it shall cast out
devils, heal the sick, raise the dead, and move on all the
afflicted. It shall bring many to Christ.
Hezekiah was
the king of Judah, and Jerusalem was the capitol.
Sennacherib, the king of Assyria, had sent Rabshakeh with
harsh and blasphemous words against the kingdom of God and
God himself. They had declared all their victories in front
of God’s people. The king was told all the things the
heathen spoke against God. This enemy told them they were
going to take the city and destroy the work of God, because
the gods of others had not saved them, and Israel’s
God would not save them either.
Isaiah 37:
1-3 says, “And it came to pass, when king Hezekiah heard it,
that he rent his clothes, and covered himself with
sackcloth, and went into the house of the LORD. And he sent
Eliakim, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe,
and the elders of the priests covered with sackcloth, unto
Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz. And they said unto him,
Thus saith Hezekiah, This day is a day of trouble,
and of rebuke, and of blasphemy: for the children are
come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.”
This is what they told the
man of God. They were in great travail, and they did not
feel they had the strength to bring forth.
Isaiah 66:8
says, “Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such
things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day?
or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion
travailed, she brought forth her children.” In Verse 9 God
is talking to those of us who would say there is not
strength enough to bring forth. Verse 9 says, “Shall I
bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the
LORD: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith
thy God.”
If God has
begun a travailing in you, a work in you, He will perform
it. He will cause it to come to birth! You keep on
laboring, and travailing, and believing God, and He will
bring it forth! You don’t have to bring it forth; God will
do it. God will move on you, the people, and the church,
and there shall be a glorious birth, and a glorious
rejoicing. Jesus Christ, the Son of God shall be made
manifest among His people. The Bride of Christ shall be
made known unto all men. God said He shall bring it to
pass. It doesn’t matter how hard the push, or how close to
death.
1 Corinthians
10:13 says, “There hath no temptation taken you but such as
is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer
you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the
temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to
bear it.”
He will bring
you to the point of death that you will know the difference
between death and life. Psalm 23:4 says, “Yea, though I
walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear
no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they
comfort me.”
You may not
know if you can do it. Keep on believing God, and He will
do it right on through you. God, I have a heavy blood
loss. I am passing out. You are going to travail some
tears and sorrow. There will be some anguish right before
the awesome day of the Lord. James 1:3-4 says, “Knowing
this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But
let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect
and entire, wanting nothing.”
Luke 21:19
says, “In your patience possess ye your souls.” As we have
believed God, we wait on Him. We are supposed to eat
and drink just right. We are not partaking of uncleanness
during this “pregnancy”. We must believe God as we move
forward. We don’t need assistance from the world or the
devil. We need what God’s Word has provided for us to eat!
God’s Word and His grace are sufficient for us. Matthew 4:4
says, “. . . Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every
word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”
There is
victory in Christ Jesus, and we shall see revival like the
world has never seen in its entire history. The bigger the
baby, the harder is the travail. Men can’t amen this nearly
as hard as the women, unless they have held the woman’s hand
as she was giving birth. Have you felt that grip when she
had a contraction? Sure it hurts, but do you know what you
are bearing? Sure you are in a lot of pain, but it is worth
it. Look what comes forth from it.
You don’t
know precisely what it is going to look like, but after it
comes forth, you would give your life to make sure they keep
theirs. You should be willing to give your life for the
children that are to come forth by your travailing in birth
in Christ Jesus. You should be seeking God with all faith
and all holiness, yielding over by the Spirit, doing what He
has commanded you to do. There is an innumerable multitude
of souls who want to come to Jesus if they can find
something REAL.
The only
thing that is really birthed is something that has been
travailed over. When Zion travailed, she brought forth
children. It was not when she just sat, or goofed off, or
was lukewarm. When she wrestles, and wars, and says No,
devil. This one belongs to God - then she is fighting
for the things God promised. If she (the Bride of Christ)
doesn’t give up, then she brings forth children, and the
glory of God, and revival. You won’t have revival unless
you fast, and pray, and believe God for it.
God has
already sent the birth pangs on you. I think some people
are saying, If I hold real still, and don’t do anything,
maybe the pain will go away. Lord, let somebody else
have this one. This is not mine. It is yours, because
you are carrying it. Romans 11:29 says, “For the gifts and
calling of God are without repentance.”
I changed
my mind. Hold it. Time out. Here comes the next
contraction. Oh, no. My wife and I took a course
that said if you push with the same desire and energy the
contractions are coming, it is supposed to make it better.
It does speed birthing, so PUSH with the same attitude that
it is coming on you. When the devil stands in your face,
stand in his face! When the devil tells you that you aren’t
going to make it, tell him he SURE isn’t going to make it!
The Word of God says that the devil is going to hell. The
devil will tell you that you are not going to make it,
because the last big contraction is too much, but the devil
is a liar!
Jesus said
there would be great sorrow in this travail. Do you want to
keep this child, or are you going to abort it? Mean or
ornery, you still love your children. The only thing you
can do to keep them out of hell is prayer, and wrestling,
and travail against the powers of darkness that try to
destroy them.
What is this
THING? It is a mighty, awesome anointing of God, the
manifest presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. He has
promised this to them that love Him. 1 Corinthians 2:9
says, “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear
heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the
things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” In
the Old Testament it says it is for them that wait on Him.
If you
believe the promise that God will bring forth a mighty move
of God, then you have conceived this seed. As you feed it,
it must grow. We have been fed mighty things from God’s
Word. Prophecy and the anointing of the Lord caused it to
grow, and now we are in travail, about ready to give birth.
It will be by signs following.
We are at the
last push, and we can’t quit now. If you quit, you abort
it. God says He has brought it up to that point, and He
will cause it to come forth. Philippians 1:6 says, “Being
confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a
good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus
Christ:”
It cannot
fail if you won’t give up! The thing God has put in you
will not fail to come to pass if you will not give up, no
matter what the reasoning. You think you have plenty of
reasons to give up. You think Jesus didn’t have reasons?
Jesus held His faith like flint in God. He bought you with
His blood, and now you can come by the blood of the Lamb and
the promise of the Father. You are going to have revival
with the anointing that breaks every yoke.
Now is the
time to believe. John 16:22-23 makes us to understand that
Jesus will manifest Himself to His people at this time.
Verse 22 says, “And ye now therefore have sorrow:
but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice,
and your joy no man taketh from you.”
John 16:23
says, “And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily,
verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father
in my name, he will give it you.” Whatever you ask God in
the name of Jesus in that day when this is brought forth,
God will answer. There will not be a six month’s wait or
maybes. He will give it to you right then, or He will give
you the reason. Revival shall spring forth.
Jesus said we
will see Him again. 2 Chronicles 5:14 says, “So that the
priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud:
for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God.” God
was there. When He brought His people out of Egypt, they
saw Him (see Exodus 13:19-22) as a pillar of a cloud by day
and a pillar of fire by night.
You can read
in Exodus 24:9-13 how Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu,
and seventy of the elders of Israel saw the God of Israel,
and did eat and drink.
God wants to
show forth Himself out of His people again. Don’t quit
praying. Now is the time; it is just about ready to
come forth. If your contractions are farther apart than
those of somebody else, pray for them. Galatians 6:2 says,
“Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of
Christ.”
Pray for one
another that God will give each of us the faith to go onward
and believe Him for the rest of His move in us.
